MEDICAL DOCTOR-POOL

Requirements for the position

Education:

• Essential: Recognized Medical Doctor Bachelor’s degree
• Essential: Valid work permit from the medical council in Sana’a

Experience:    

• Essential: Minimum 2-year experience as a Medical Doctor or in clinical work (can be within medical training). 
• Desirable: Previous experience with MSF or other NGO.

Languages:    

• Essential Arabic and English, both oral and written

Other:     

• Orientation for results and quality, good team worker, flexibility, commitment, people management skills
• Desirable: computer literacy (Word, Excel)

Description

• Place of work:  Abs District, Hajja Governorate, Republic of Yemen
• Level:  9
• Duration: Until the end of 2022, with possibility of extension subjected to a probation period according to the IR of MSF.
• Others: Salary: Based on the organization scale

Main objectives

Provide outpatient and/or inpatient medical care to patients/beneficiaries according to adapted and updated medical knowledge, MSF protocols, values and universal hygiene standards to improve the patients/beneficiaries’ health conditions.

Main responsibilities and tasks          

Maternity

• Ensure follow up of all patients in the maternity and inform the gynaecologist of any complication thereof.
• Ensure the proper documentation of care in the patients’ clinical file.
• Follow up with the midwives to ensure that admission criteria are respected in the maternity triage. 
• Ensure rationale prescription of medications including antibiotics in the maternity.
• Perform basic procedure such as manual vacuum aspiration for patients admitted to the maternity.
• Perform ultrasound scan for women presenting to the maternity and follow up with the midwives to ensure accurate diagnostic ultrasound scan.
• Management of emergencies in the
